By A Tempest Purified

'Have you ever noticed rocks in the sea, beaten by the tempest? A furious wave dashes against the rock, another and yet another does likewise, yet the rock is unmoved.

'But look at it after the storm has subsided, and you will see that the flood has but served to wash and purify it of the defilement it had contracted during the calm.'

Notice How They Preach

'Listen to the sermon preached to you by the flowers, the trees, the shrubs, the sky, and the whole world. Notice how they preach to you a sermon full of love, of praise of God, and how they invite you to glorify the sublimity of that sovereign Artist who has given them being.'

Whenever a Storm Threatens...

'Do as vinedressers or gardeners whenever a storm threatens...
They run to a shelter and stay there in peace until the storm passes.
That is what I want you to do with the grace of God.
Always remain quiet and calm in the shelter of God's will,
under the almighty protection of the Most High.'
