His Vision

"Sometimes we wonder why the Lord makes us wait so long for an answer to our prayers.....

"His vision of our situation includes factors that are hidden from us.  We see only our present need, but His eyes range ahead over
the whole of our lives, and not of ours only, but of all those other lives which are affected by ours.  He sees the deep needs of each one
of us and of the whole of mankind. ..

"God's timing is always
perfect."

            (Pope St. Leo the Great)

  1. Such wise words. I'm always stunned by Pope St. Leo's words whenever I read something of his. Thanks for sharing!
[And thanks for your note! I haven't had a moment yet to write something thoughtful back, but will soon.] :)

    1. Thank you, Kasclar. I understand not having moments! And there's no reason to give another thought to writing 'something thoughtful' back...... because YOU JUST DID! :):) !!

  3. Nancy,
Thank you for sharing these words from Pope St Leo. Sometimes it is easy to forget that God sees the whole picture from above and that we here on the ground have a limited view. His ways are certainly above our ways. I love the picture; James Tissot is one of my favorite artists.

    1. Thanks, Karinann. Yes, it easy to forget this perspective. Thank God He has given us reminders in scripture and in writings of the saints! I haven't seen much by James Tissot, so I think I'll treat myself to a search for him online :)!

  4. Another one! You have such a talent, Nancy, for marrying these images with words that touch our souls.

    1. Thank you, Allison, and thanks be to God. He has been "reminding me" to pray specifically for what things to put together. Sometimes I put on lovely music (chant) and browse around for public domain paintings that "grab me." It can be a really prayerful time!
