In Each Moment

'Faithfully do what God expects of you in each moment, and leave
the rest up to Him. I assure you that living in this manner will bring you great peace.'

St. Jane de Chantal

  1. Hi! I clicked on over on your most recent post from Leila's blog and loved it because it was St. Alphonsus Liguori, one of my favorites and I was born on his feast day, so I feel doubly blessed to know him. I then started scrolling down and right away my eyes saw St. Francis de Sales, who is another of my all-time favorites and then just below him, St. Jane de Chantal! Oh, how that makes my heart happy! Honestly, although I love the Saints and have long had a devotion to many of them, I hadn't really know much about St. Jane until in a crazy set of circumstances that I saw her intervention and God's providence, my youngest daughter was born on her feast day August 12th. I firmly believe St. Jane and St. Maximilian Kolbe (along with other saints near and dear to my heart) interceded to save my daughter Katharine's life as although she was full term and a very healthy weight, she developed breathing complications soon after birth and had to be rushed to a local Children's NICU where we spent an anxious 6 days trying to figure out what was going on. Thankfully, she is healthy today and a very rambunctious 20 month old. Anyway, ever since then though I have felt this tug to get to know St. Jane, not only to express my gratitude for her intervention, but to also soak up her motherly and holy wisdom.

If you are interested, I wrote about the role the Saints played in saving Katharine's life here. http://joybeyondthecross.blogspot.com/2014/10/friends-in-high-places-katharines-birth.html
