What An Opportunity!

What a beautiful opportunity during this pivotal time in the Church!

Did you know that, in addition to praying for the Conclave electing our next pope, we can each actually "adopt a cardinal" and pray very specifically that he will be guided by the Holy Spirit?

I first learned about this through Tiffany at Family at the Foot of the Cross , and before long I had prayed, clicked, and suddenly I was given the privilege of praying for Cardinal Franc Rodé from Slovenia.  I've been "researching" him for several hours now, and already this makes the election process more personal than ever.

If you would like to take this opportunity to pray particularly for one of the men who will be inspired by God to choose our next holy father,  click this line   http://adoptacardinal.org/  to read more about it.

  2. OH!!! I've seen him...in Cancun (of all places!!) He was there for some special ceremony at the Catholic church in Cancun when we were leaving the Mass just prior. It really caught my eye because my mother would have loved to see him since she is Slovenian. :) We picked our Cardinal last evening. The kids were so excited to do this!

  3. Thanks for the link, Nancy. I signed up this morning and just posted about my cardinal :)
This is such a great idea. As of now over 77,000 people have joined. The College of Cardinals is being flooded with prayer!

    1. Thanks be to God! Now I am very, very aware of our holy father Benedict XVI's last day tomorrow. It definitely seems our Lord is calling for that flood of prayer at this time.

    1. Trish, I am so glad to hear from you.. and isn't God's choice for you providential!! I also want to let you know that I had intended to nominate your blog for a "Liebster award" recently, and tried to click on it for several days. Every time, I got a message that the blog was for invited viewers only. I've received that message before with your blog (including one OTHER time when I was going to nominate you for a blog award!!!!). Just wanted to let you know, in case there's some error.

I am so glad to see you back in "clicking range!" :)

  6. This morning there were over 99,000 people who have adopted a cardinal. I sense the Holy Spirit at work.

  7. Thank you, Anabelle and Paula. We cannot go wrong when praying, and I am awed at this "new" inspiration of a way to do so. It is obviously an important conclave. All are, of course, but during these times in the Church it is so good to know that people who are willing to truly pray are keeping every single cardinal, by name, in prayer. Thanks be to God.
