  1. Nancy, could it be that we are His sleeping beauties? It makes sense that only His Majesty can breathe into us the life we need to serve Him. Then He gets all the Glory.I love this quote and the picture too. Blessings +

    1. Absolutely! I find so much in the story of Sleeping Beauty.... the main thing being, of course, that the prince comes and kisses her awake!! I just love that. But the wicked queen also, so eaten up with pride and jealousy, wanting Sleeping Beauty killed, coming in disguise, lying, presenting fruit. I think fairy tales often get at the core of what we know in our hearts.

  2. Nancy,

That is such a beautiful pairing of words and picture! The image is a detail? I will have to find out more. I've read the complete works of St Theresa of Avila. It seems amazing to me she never reread or rewrote anything because of lack of time. Truly her words were inspired.

    1. I should have put "cropped" instead of "detail," for it's actually the main painting but with some of the edges removed. I am amazed by St. Teresa also, and love celebrating her feast (which you're already doing as I write this!). Thank you,Sue!
